COMPUTER NETWORK TECHNICIAN
Computer technology has created entirely new employment opportunities
for today's business economy. Iverson Business School's Computer Network
Technician program is a targeted curriculum designed to offer students
a diversified array of skills necessary to perform in the information
technology environment. Graduates of this program will be prepared to
contribute to the efficient operation of any business utilizing computer
systems with a thorough knowledge of computer operation, hardware, software,
networks, operating systems, data entry, word processing, and a wide variety
of current business software programs. They will learn network design,
spreadsheet applications, how to maintain and upgrade computers, necessary
verbal and written communication skills for effective client/coworker
relationships and be provided with opportunities for A+® and Microsoft®
MCSE, MCP, MOUS certification. Graduates of this program may find entry-level
employment businesses in all sectors of the economy (manufacturing, wholesale,
retail, non-profit, service) and in a wide variety of positions including:
Hardware Technicians, Network Operators, Software Developers, Web Specialists,
Systems Designers, Network Administrators, Information System Technicians,
Computer Repair Specialists and System Engineer Assistants.

Minimum Section Scores: Language (42); Reading (43); Numerical (41)

Program Objective: Professionally trained computer network
administrators are in great demand by today's business community. Network
administrators are knowledgeable in data processing, spreadsheet design,
and database management. A well-trained network administrator must be
familiar with various network designs, computer related equipment, network
management and both systems and application software. This program offers
course work designed to train the network administrator to manage a modern
computer network.
The approximate amount of time required for
completion of the day Computer Network Technician program is fifty
(50) weeks and the evening program is sixty (62) weeks.
